premature ejaculation Is there a cure for premature ejaculation?

Premature ejaculation is the process by which a man ejaculates too quickly during sexual intercourse. It is a common ejaculation problem amongst men and is sometimes referred to as rapid ejaculation.  While there is no direct cure-all pill or potion you can take to cure premature ejaculation, it can be treated.

International guidelines define that it is regularly ejaculating within one minute of entering your partner, however, if you and your partner are happy then it is up to you to decide whether or not you should consider treatment.

If ejaculation times are causing you undue distress and concern then this is a problem that can be helped with treatment, as this can sometimes be a sign of erectile dysfunction.

Treatment of premature ejaculation

Treatment can be applied through several methods available to you via speaking to your GP. First, you must establish what the underlying cause is and whether or not physical discomfort or psychological distress cause the premature ejaculation.

There are considered to be two types:

  • Primary: this is considered to be where you have always had the problem. The most common cause is psychological, such as from trauma at a young age or experiencing sexual trauma in adulthood.
  • Secondary: this is considered to be where you have recently developed or acquired premature ejaculation. The most common cause is physically from drinking too much alcohol and inflammation of the prostate gland which is called prostatitis.

Should you feel the need to seek treatment for premature ejaculation, then you will be able to find that your GP or a clinic, like Moorgate Andrology, can help you to get the treatment you desire.
