How long is the recovery after penis enlargement surgery?

Penis enlargement surgery generally requires a six week period for a full recovery.

Those with a sedentary job will take a few days off, and those with a manual job will need up to one week off.

Over the following few weeks, around 30 to 50% of the fat absorbs naturally, leaving substantial and permanent increases of between one and two inches in the flaccid and erect girth. By 3 months, the final result will be apparent.

For the lengthening procedure, there is a small transverse incision at the base of the pubic area ( neatly hidden ) which will have dissolvable sutures. These fall out on their own in the first few weeks after penis enlargement surgery.

In the first few weeks after surgery our Urologists will show you how to gently massage your penis, three or five times a day when you go for a pee. This is to keep the fat distribution nice and even as the fat transfer settles down.

Over this six eek period it is important to avoid any sexual activity, including masturbation. Also, avoid gym and sports for the same period. The results will be worth the wait !

Are the results from penis enlargement surgery permanent?

The most popular choice to increase penis size in the United Kingdom is the so-called ‘ligamentolysis’ penis enlargement procedure to increase the length of the penis, and a fat transfer to increase penis girth.

The ligamentolysis procedure reveals the hidden length that all men have to some degree. In most cases, the extra length is between one and two inches following the division of the suspensory ligament from its attachments to the pubic bone.

Our Senior Urologist, Dr Nenad Djakovic has his own unique technique to prevent ligament re-attachment. We use your own surrounding tissues to prevent ligament re-attachment. This means we do not need to  place a silicone implant to prevent reattachment of the ligament.

Our technique means that you do not have the risk of silicone implants and the need to have a silicone implant in your body for the rest of your life.

We have not had a single case of ligament reattachment in the three years we have been adopting this technique.

In the girth aspect, around 30 to 50% of the initial transferred fat, which is taken from the abdomen and inner thighs, absorbs naturally over the following three months.

This is perfectly normal.

The remaining fat then obtains its own blood supply and becomes living tissue. The final result is evident between 8 to 12 weeks.

The final result of your penis girth fat transfer will be an increase in flaccid and erect girth of between one and two inches.

Your flaccid penis will be almost double the size of before.

At Moorgate Andrology we carry out all penis enlargement surgery procedures under general anaesthetic. This is because we want our patients to have a comfortable experience and not feel any discomfort during the procedure. When the procedure is performed under general anaesthesia you will not feel any pain at all. Of course, the procedure can be carried out under local anaesthetic or sedation, but it must be remembered that the procedure could be very painful under these conditions. Liposuction must be performed to remove the fat from the abdomen and inner thighs for girth enhancement and the ligamentolysis is a deep structure attached to the pubic bone. If you are concerned about any aspect of the anaesthesia used, then you should discuss this with the Urologist at your consultation. Your suitability for general anaesthesia will be checked as part of your assessment for penile augmentation surgery.

It is very important to stick to the post-operative rules on the healing process and recovery time following your penile augmentation surgery. One of those key rules relates to sexual activity after the surgery. Your Urologist will tell you to avoid all sexual activity following the surgery for a period of six weeks. This includes sexual intercourse and masturbation. The reason that you must avoid sex for this period is partly due to the fat transfer to increase the penis size and girth. It takes time for the fat transfer to settle into the penis and having sex too soon can cause the fat to migrate into lumps and bumps. Similarly, when the ligamentolysis has been done to make the penis longer, there will be a small incision in the lower pubic area. This will contain dissolvable sutures which will take time to fall out on their own. It is important not to dislodge the sutures at this time after penis enlargement surgery.
