PRP or Platelet-rich plasma is used to treat a range of problems and can increase the size of your penis. In today’s blog, we are going to discuss what is involved in the recovery stage after treatment and how long it takes.
Is it surgical?
The PRP procedure that we offer here at Moorgate Andrology is done mainly in order to cure some medical conditions such as erectile dysfunction. The procedure is non-surgical and is done on an out-patient basis, so you can get on with your day right after. You will be in the treatment room for around 30 minutes, however, if you want to have the combined procedure, alongside our Hyaluronic acid injection treatment, you will be with us for 20-30 minutes more.
Will there be immediate results?
- Both the standard PRP and the combined injection procedure will make your penis appear larger in girth,
- Improved sensitivity of your penis,
- Increased blood flow to the penis which improves erection quality,
- In some cases, improvement in penile curvature,
- Improves the rigidity of your penis.
What is involved in the recovery?
After you have had the PRP injections on their own the recovery stage is shorter than the combined treatment. Whilst there are no serious risks that come with having the treatment, you may experience some bleeding and/or bruising. These risks are minor and overall, this treatment is very safe.
After having PRP, you should avoid sex for the first day of having the treatment, you can return 24 hours afterwards. However, if you had PRP combined with the HA, sex should be avoided for 4 weeks afterwards as this could cause unwanted lumps and bumps to form in your penis.
After you have had the injections, the Urologist will talk you through massages that you must do to stop these lumps from appearing.
