Does penis enlargement surgery hurt?

The size of a man’s penis can often be a source of embarrassment, anxiety, and worry. If a male believes his penis is too small, he might not want to engage in sexual activity due to fear of what his partner might think. Or, in some cases, he may not be able to perform sexually.

If you feel like you’re in this category and would like some professional help, not to worry. You’ve come to the right place at Moorgate Andrology!

Due to the sensitive area in which penis enlargement surgery takes place, many men understandably ask our experts whether the surgery will hurt, and about the healing process. We’re here to put your mind at rest with this blog post, hopefully reassuring you that surgery isn’t as distressing as you might think.

Why do men want penis enlargement surgery?

Before we delve into the details, it’s important to first discuss why this solution is something that many feel is necessary. Here at Moorgate, we have spoken to lots of men with crippling anxiety when it comes to the length and girth of their penis. A common misconception is that penis enlargement surgery only makes a penis longer in length, but with our expertise, we can also increase girth.

A small penis is something that can cause worry about what a sexual partner may think, which can in turn ruin any sexual experience. Of course, it’s worth noting that many partners don’t really care about the size of the penis as much as they do love, chemistry, and intimacy during sex. But should your penis be too small to penetrate your partner sufficiently, you may want to consider penis surgery to increase its size.

It isn’t as stressful as you think

Naturally, males tend to think that surgery on their penis is going to be a traumatic experience, and one that can cause considerable discomfort.

We understand.

But you’ll be glad to know that by working with the expert team here at Moorgate Andrology, we can put your mind at rest. With many years of experience in the industry, our urologists are expertly trained when it comes to performing penile extension surgery or penile thickening surgery.

We can answer any questions you have in as much depth as possible (and we’re sure there will be a few!) including if the surgery hurts and how the usual healing process takes place. We want you to be confident that penis enlargement surgery is a solution you’re comfortable with, excited that you’ll reap the benefits of a larger penis!

How does penis enlargement surgery work?

To prepare you a little more and help you decide if penis surgery is for you, here’s a brief overview of how it works.

To extend the length of your penis by up to 2 inches, one of our urologists will place a small incision at the base of the pubic area. It’s worth noting that you will be under general anaesthetic whilst this takes place!.  A ligament called the suspensory ligament is then cut which will then push the penis forward and releases extra length that you can benefit from.

In 95% of cases, this is between 1 and 2 inches. In 5 % of cases this could be a little less than once inch, or a little more than 2 inches.

It’s worth noting, that this will only extend the flaccid length of the penis, not its longer when erect. To make your erect penis larger over time, we will work with you post-surgery using a special device, which fits onto the penis and will need to be worn each night. This is worn for around 12 months after your surgery.

So, does it hurt?

As you will be under general anaesthetic during surgery, you will not experience any pain whilst we operate (you can let out a sigh of relief now!). However, as with any post-surgery recovery, you should expect some level of discomfort as the area heals. Depending on your surgery, the healing process should take between 6-8 weeks.

Our expert team of urologists will gladly discuss this aspect of your surgery with you upon consultation. We can assure you that with our talent and experience in the field, we will always offer a seamless, reassuring experience.
