Women's Genital Procedures: Cost & Financing Options

At Moorgate Andrology and Gynaecology we offer a range of procedures specifically for women.

One of the major considerations in all procedures is the cost and how to pay for the procedure itself.

We have discussions with patients about ways to pay for their procedure everyday. In this article we want to share some ideas and thoughts when it comes to financing your procedure and some tips that you might find helpful.

What procedures do we offer for women ?

The cost of any procedure will depend on the complexity of the procedure to be performed. Many factors make up the cost of a procedure. Here are some of the most commo procedures that we offer for women

Labial puff fillers

This is a popular non surgical treatment performed in the outpatient clinic. This involves the injection of hyaluronic acid fillers into the outer labia of the vagina. It has a rejuvenating effect, making the vagina look more voluminous and youthful. Because this treatment is performed under local anaesthetic the cost is comparatively lower than a surgical procedure. You will see that the is a theme running through all of the procedures. Labial puff fillers cost from £ 350 per ml.

Labiaplasty surgery

This is a minor day case procedure to reduce the size and prominence of the inner labia. It can be performed under local or general anaesthetic. It is performed in an operating theatre as a day case. This means that you can go home on the same day. The typical cost of a labiaplasty surgery is £ 4600

Vaginoplasty

This surgery takes around two hours and is performed under general anaesthetic. It is performed by our Consultant Gynaecologist. It can be performed in conjunction with a labiaplasty. The cost a vaginoplasty is currently £5395

Pubic liposuction

This is a surgical procedure to remove excess fat from the pubic area. This is also a surgical procedure that takes around one hour. The cost for pubic liposuction currently is £ 6495

Pubic lift

Sometimes there is excess skin on the pubic area and only liposuction in this area would make this excess skin worse. In these cases we can remove excess fat and excess skin. This is typically a two hour procedure performed under general anaesthetic. The cost of pubic lift surgery is £9495

How the cost is determined

The procedure: As we have mentioned already, if your procedure is a surgical one then the cost will be higher than if it is a non-surgical one. Surgical procedures require a team of medical professionals beyond just the Surgeon. These include Nurses, anaesthetists and other theatre staff. The costs of providing the surgery in an operating theatre are also taken into account.

Non surgical procedures such as labial fillers are determined somewhat by the amount of filler injected in the treatment. The more filler injected the higher the cost will be. Some procedures require special implants or facilities which will add to the cost of a procedure.

Location

Our prices do not change by location. We offer the same pricing structure at all of our locations. However, some clinics charge different prices by location , and sometimes by Physician. In a number of clinics the London based charges can be higher than the rest of the country. This is because the facilities cost may cost more in the south of the UK than in the north.

Consultations and aftercare

Some procedures require lengthy consultation processes and aftercare. Procedures that require many post-operative visits will cost more. You should understand exactly what the costs are including follow up. Many non-surgical procedures do not need much follow up care if any. All surgical procedures require follow up care and support from your surgeon.

Options to pay

Now we have an idea of the costs of the most common procedures, let's take a look at the payment options. There are a number of ways in which a procedure can be funded.

Bank transfer

Still a very common choice for many patients. The payment is secure from bank to bank and the payments are instant in most cases. So if you have the funds it can be one of the most simplest ways to pay for your procedure.

Debit or credit card

Many patients pay for their procedures with a debit or credit card. A credit card payment affords patients a little time to pay for their procedure, perhaps on pay day. At Moorgate Andrology and Gynaecology we accept all major debit and credit cards. Many patients pay the initial deposit on a debit or credit card and then pay the balance of the procedure by a bank transfer.

Finance

A number of our patients choose to finance their procedure. We have finance options that include interest free finance for non-surgical procedures ( up to 50% of the total cost over one year) and we also have tailored interest bearing finance for all procedures. With this type of finance you can borrow up to 100% of the total cost of the procedure and take up to five years to pay.

Your own bank

Many patients turn to their own bank for finance. Personal loans are available for medical procedures and the banks can be a good source of finance at competitive rates for many.

Borrow from a family or friend

Lots of patients choose to borrow the funds from family or friends. If this is an option you do not need to approach any financial institution for a loan.

Savings plan

At Moorgate we also have an in-house savings scheme where patients deposit funds with us until they have reached the required amount for their procedure. Ask us about this for more details.

Conclusion

When you have the price for your procedure and you understand the costs involved, it is important to consider all payment options. If you already have the funds in place then it may be a simple matter of deciding which way to pay, a simple card payment or a bank transfer.

If you are looking to finance your procedure then some research into the various options makes sense. Many patients prefer to take the finance that is arranged by the clinic. They like the idea to arranging everything in the same place. When looking for finance consider that the interest rates offered may vary significantly from provider to provider.
