How to Measure Your Penis for Surgery or Fillers
Accurate measurement of the penis is important when considering penis enlargement surgery or penile fillers. It allows realistic planning and helps track changes over time.
At Moorgate Andrology, all measurements are taken by a Urologist as part of your assessment, but you may wish to understand the process beforehand.
Measuring Length (Flaccid or Erect)
Penis length can be measured either erect or flaccid-stretched. The stretched flaccid length closely reflects erect length in most men.
How to measure:
• Use a rigid ruler
• Place it on the top of the penis
• Press gently into the pubic bone to account for fat padding
• Measure from the base to the tip
This gives the most accurate and reproducible result.
Measuring Girth
Girth is measured using a soft measuring tape.
• Wrap the tape around the thickest part of the shaft
• Ensure it is snug but not tight
• Record the circumference
This measurement is particularly relevant when considering penile fillers.
Measuring Conditions Matter
Penis size can vary depending on:
• Temperature
• Stress
• Time of day
• Recent exercise or bathing
For consistency, measure under similar conditions each time.
Clinical Measurements
For penis enlargement surgery and fillers, measurements are taken in the flaccid state during your consultation. This is the standard and most relevant measurement for surgical planning.
