Labial Augmentation procedure with hyaluronic acid
Due to tissue atrophy associated with aging , the outer lips of the vagina, called the labia majora, can become lax and lose their youthfulness.
This can cause embarrassment and have an impact on self confidence and personal relationships.
Other factors such as childbirth and the menopause can also be a contributing factor to this condition.
Some women choose this procedure to help hide protruding labia minora by augmenting the outer labia majora. It many cases this can help avoid a surgical labiaplasty.
The product used to improve the appearance of the labia majora is hyaluronic acid. The specific product that will be used is Nuevia intense rose.

Before the treatment.
Before you attend the clinic please shower on the morning of your treatment with an anti bacterial body wash. Do not apply any creams or sprays to the area.
Avoid all blood thinning agents one week before the treatment. In those who have a history herpes simplex infection, there is a risk of reactivation of infection with injections to that area. Please discuss this with your practitioner.
The Treatment
Upon your arrival the Doctor will take some pre-treatment photos. After your treatment he will take more photos, so that you can see the result of the treatment.
Initially, topical anaesthetic is applied to numb the skin. Additional local anaesthesia may also be applied to help make the treatment as comfortable as possible.
Once the local anaesthesia has taken effect the Doctor will inject the hyaluronic acid using a cannula.
The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes.
You will be able to go home after the procedure is performed.
After Treatment
After the treatment you may experience some swelling and bruising to the area and it may feel sore at first. You can apply an ice pack to the area to help with this. The amount of swelling and bruising varies from patient to patient.
You should avoid sexual intercourse for one week after the treatment including touching or massaging the treated area. Also avoid extremes of temperature such as excessive heat (sauna or steam bath, hot drinks) or cold (swimming), alcohol, smoking and vigorous exercises for at least 24 hours after the procedure.
Avoid taking aspirin for one week unless you are taking this medication for medical reasons.
Do not wash the treated area on the same day as the treatment.
You can take paracetamol to help with any discomfort if required but please avoid anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen.
The so called labial augmentation treatment is considered a safe treatment, however you should be aware that all treatments carry an element of risk.
Possible Side Effects
Infection is rare in such treatments but is a possibility. You should expect some bruising and swelling and some discomfort to the treated areas.
