Gynaecomastia is a procedure in which the fat and in some cases breast tissue in the male chest area, is broken down and removed. Excess fat or tissue in the male chest area can remain from puberty or can develop from the use of certain medication/steroids. The severity of the condition varies with everyone.
Breast reduction for men is carried out through a small incision to break up the fat beneath the skin. The fat is then removed by a syringe or vacuum pump. Depending on the extent of the fatty tissue, the surgeon may want to remove any excess breast tissue which can be done at the same time as liposuction.
