Continue reading to find out about PRP injections and their uses.

What is PRP?

PRP has been used for some years now in various areas of medicine, for example, dental surgery and Orthopaedic surgery. It is also used quite a lot in sports medicine; lots of athletes use PRP to help them heal from sports injuries much quicker than they usually would. It is great for healing, repairing and regenerating tissue.

Does it have sexual benefits?

At Moorgate Andrology, we use Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, to help men improve certain aspects of their sexual performance. It can help gain stronger, firmer erections, improve the sensitivity and improve blood flow to the penis. If you feel that your erections are not quite where they were, or you’d like them to be better, then Platelet-rich plasma could be something to consider.

What is involved in the procedure?

The procedure is a simple treatment. A blood sample would be taken like you would in a blood test, which extracts the blood. The blood is transferred into tubes which are placed in the centrifuge, it then spins the blood very quickly for a few minutes. This separates the platelets from the blood. Your doctor will then inject the platelets into your penile shaft.

If you are having PRP to treat erectile dysfunction, you should see improved sensitivity of your penis, increased blood flow and erection quality. It is over the course of the next three months, you should see the improvement.
